Brittney Griner is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and the UMMC Ekaterinburg of the Russian Premier League. She is a seven-time WNBA All-Star, a two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States women’s national basketball team.
Griner is 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 m) tall and weighs 205 pounds (93 kg). She is one of the most dominant players in the WNBA, and she has been credited with helping to raise the profile of women’s basketball. Griner is also a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
